Why is my business listed?
Because you hold an active nursery license, and license records are public. We obtain them through public records requests to state agriculture departments — the same records that show a business is licensed to sell plants.
We didn't take your information from another website, and nobody submitted it. If you're licensed, you're in the registry, and the registry is where we start.
What we publish, and what we hold back
We publish: business name, street address, city, county, ZIP, phone number, and license type.
We hold back: email addresses. State records include them, but publishing small-business email addresses invites spam, so we keep them private.
We also strip personal names out of addresses. Many licensees are family farms operating from home, and a business listing shouldn't publish someone's name alongside their home address.
Is it free?
Yes. Being listed is free, staying listed is free, and correcting your listing is free. We don't charge nurseries to appear and we don't charge visitors to search.
How do I correct something?
Send us a claim request. We check every one by hand before anything changes — nobody can edit a listing directly, which protects your business from someone else editing it.
The quickest way to verify you is the email address on your state license. If it matches, we can act immediately. Otherwise we may call the number on the license.
How do I get removed?
Ask, and we'll remove you. Use the same form and say you'd like the listing taken down. We won't argue with you about it.
How current is this?
License records are renewed annually, and we refresh each state when we receive an updated file. A listing reflects what the state had on record when we last pulled it, so details can lag — which is another reason to call ahead before driving out.
