EveryNursery is a free directory of licensed plant nurseries, garden centers, growers, and tree farms in the United States. It exists because finding a real nursery near you is oddly hard — search engines surface big-box stores and ads, and the small growers with the interesting plants are nearly invisible online.
Where the listings come from
Every state requires nurseries to hold an annual license, and those license records are public. We request them directly from each state's Department of Agriculture, then clean, geocode, and publish them.
That means our listings aren't scraped from other directories or guessed at from search results. They come from the same records the state uses to regulate the industry, which is why a nursery can appear here without ever having a website.
What we don't do
We don't track live inventory. No directory can honestly tell you what's on the bench this morning. Stock changes daily and sells out fast in spring, so we tell you what a nursery is licensed for and where to find it — then you call ahead.
We don't sell your data or run ads for other people's products. The directory is free to use and always will be.
We don't take payment to rank a nursery higher in search results. If we ever offer paid placement, it will be labeled as such.
Where we are today
Oregon is live, with 2,752 licensed nurseries. Washington and California requests are in progress, and more states follow as each registry comes back.
Coverage grows one state at a time because each one has its own records process. We'd rather add a state properly than pad the map with guesses.
